The new Pelion Branch Library opened in June 2000. Located on Hwy. 302, it is a 6,000 ft building with plenty of shelving, reading areas and study tables, computers for Internet access, a bright and colorful children's area, and a meeting room for library and community use. The staff consists of one full time professional librarian, one full time Circulation LA1, one part-time youth services programmer, and two part-time Circulation LA1's. The library is open 40 hours a week, including Thursday evenings and Saturdays. It also has a Friend's of the Library used book area and a display area for exhibits.
