Ongoing Programs

Programs are ongoing offerings and either start regularly or can be scheduled at your convenience.
  • Clap, snap, whistle, and whir. Children and adults will have a BOING of a BLAST when the Blue Man Group: Making Waves exhibit rumbles into EdVenture, June 19 -September 19. Investigate the possibilities of sound-making with instruments you can make from found objects. Learn how sounds can convey emotion through pitch, volume, and vibration. See how combining unusual sounds in rhythm can create new kinds of music. Even the human body becomes a music machine in this fun excursion into the science of sound. Special guided activities will be offered at 10am and 2pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and 2pm on Sundays for the duration of the exhibit. Bring the kids for this great sound-sational time and join in the fun as they make some noise, Blue Man-style!
  • Your child will explore his creative side in the Aha Factory, a fun, safe environment where everyday objects are transformed into works of art! Every child likes to create his own art project and proudly display it for all to see. In the Aha Factory, EdVenture staff members lead children on a journey of creativity using an assortment of recycled products combined with the whimsy of art supplies.
  • Explore the science of what’s biting you in this skin-crawling exhibition! This kid-friendly exhibition examines the what, why, when and how of mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, leeches and other parasites. Learn why bloodsuckers are important to the ecosystem, and how to keep them out of your system!

  •

G’day Mate! Enjoy a walkabout in Kangaroo Crossing beginning April 5, 2011! Try to jump as far as a kangaroo, shop for Vegemite, swim through the Great Barrier Reef, crawl through a life-size termite mound, learn about mysterious marsupials or listen to a school lesson in “the bush.” This kid friendly exhibition will introduce young minds to new, unique cultures of Australia. It’s an important lesson in learning that no matter where we live, we’re all people sharing one big planet.
